Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a hormonal byproduct that, in excess at the scalp, contributes to follicle miniaturization — one of the most well-understood drivers of androgenic hair thinning.
Saw palmetto extract and pumpkin seed oil are two of the most clinically-studied topical DHT modulators. Both have been associated in research with reductions in DHT-related follicle stress when applied topically at appropriate concentrations.
